Poor People's Campaign Mobilizing Tour

UID 51
Title Poor People's Campaign Mobilizing Tour
Description Before COVID, there were over 140 million people who were living in poverty or one $600 health emergency away from being in poverty. Since March 2020, while hundreds of thousands of people have died, millions are on the edge of hunger and eviction, and still without health care or living wages, billionaire wealth has grown by over $2 trillion. On June 18 at the Mass Poor People's and Low Wage Workers' Assembly and Moral March on Washington and to the Polls we will build a massive stage for the abandoned and dispossessed of America to speak and force the nation to hear the truth. From this stage, we will not simply curse the darkness, but demonstrate our compelling power to right the wrongs of society. And we need you to join us. This coming Monday, April 4 marks 75 days out from this generationally transformative gathering on June 18. Join us this weekend in DC as we launch into 75 days of organizing, mobilizing, and energizing our movement! DMV Mobilization Kick-off! This Sunday April 3, at 2:30 pm, join PPC Co-Chairs Bishop William J. Barber, II and Reverend Liz Theoharis, along with PPC activists, organizers, faith leaders and partners from DC, Maryland, and Virginia as we launch into our 75 day Organizing Action Plan for the Mass Poor People's & Low-Wage Workers' Assembly Moral March on Washington and to the Polls June 18, 2022 March in Washington, DC. Connect with fellow mobilizers, learn tips for organizing groups of your friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, and organizations to join the June 18th Mass Assembly. Pick up a packet of mobilizing materials (including flyers and signs). Light refreshments will be provided. Location: First Trinity Lutheran Church 501 4th St, NW.
